主讲人介绍:

Dominic is the Head of Regulatory in London, focusing on regulatory compliance and defence of businesses in the retail food and leisure sectors.  Dominic is part of the Executive Team that leads DWF’s retail, food and Leisure business.

Drawing on his in-house experience, Dominic delivers commercial solutions to complex regulatory issues.  His work is split into three key areas - food, safety and brand protection, including all types of trading standards work. Dominic works with clients on both risk prevention and mitigation.

In helping clients in international markets, Dominic has advised on the impact of the TTIP trade agreement on international regulation, and helped with product launches, recalls and withdrawals across the EEA.

Dominic’s food law practice is incredibly diverse - from launching products in multiple member states to judicially reviewing the Department of Health to keep clients’ products on the market to food safety prosecutions.  Dominic was heavily involved in advising on the horsemeat scandal and has a deep interest in the impact that supply chain management has on the food industry.

Brand protection work is focused on higher risk advertising in particular comparative campaigns and price claims.  Dominic has been seconded to several of the UK’s best loved food retailers and food brands, during his career (most of which more than once).   This experience allows him to understand key industry issues and, importantly the client’s needs.  This is particularly important when handling crisis situations, for example during his significant involvement in representing and advising clients in the horsemeat scandal.

Although based in the UK his practice is European.  Dominic has advised on food launches in over a dozen member states simultaneously and product recalls and withdrawals in multiple member states.

Dominic’s team at DWF are shortlisted for Regulatory Team of the Year award presented by leading industry publication The Lawyer.  This is the team’s second shortlisting in the 3 years it has been at DWF, having been runners up in 2013.

He regularly speaks at national and international conferences, including in in the last 12 months Chicago, Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and New York.

As well as being a regular contributor to a wide range of trade publications and national press, Dominic is on the Consulting Editorial Board for Corporate Crime for Lexis Nexis, he also sits on the Better Regulation Delivery Office Business Reference Panel and the Leisure Expert’s Panel.
